Real life partners Macaulay Culkin and Brenda Song indulge in some Star Wars fun in a new ad that sees them clash in a playful lightsaber duel.
Actors Macaulay Culkin and Brenda Song duel with lightstabers in a new Star Wars ad. Culkin starred in the classic holiday movies Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. Recently, he had a supporting role in American Horror Story: Red Tide as Mickey, and he voiced Downtown Pat in Entergalactic. Song, meanwhile, is perhaps best known for starring on the Disney Channel series The Suite Life of Zack & Cody as heiress London Tipton; most recently, she’s lent her voice to the animated series Amphibia and appeared on the Hulu series Dollface.
Real life partners Culkin and Song engage in a playful lightsaber duel in a Star Wars ad posted on social media. In the video, the two are in bed when their baby starts crying. They settle the argument of who gets to put the baby back to sleep with their own pair of lightsabers. See the ad below:
Could Macaulay Culkin Appear In A Star Wars Movie Or Show
Culkin has experienced a small renaissance of sorts recently. Appearing in a supporting role for American Horror Story: Red Tide, he gave a strong performance filled with passion and emotion not seen from him before. Based on previous Star Wars projects and characters, this could make Culkin the ideal candidate for a role on the dark side. If the actor wanted, he could make a convincing Sith apprentice. In American Horror Story, his character is a dreamer with a thirst for power. The role as a Force user playing for the dark side would therefore be fitting. He could even tackle Darth Revan’s redemption arc in a live-action role, a journey that would see him coming to the light side of the Force from the dark.
Culkin even has experience in voice acting. In a comedic turn, he voiced Downtown Pat in the Netflix series Entergalactic. It seems Culkin has the range to chase any role open in the Star Wars universe, and the franchise has many to offer through its upcoming projects. While the Rogue Squadron movie was pulled from Disney’s release schedule, seeing him in the iconic orange jumpsuit would be exciting. A better fit, however, would be Taika Waititi’s untitled movie, as the director would be the most likely to use Culkin’s comedic dexterity to its full effect.
Whether Culkin could appear in a Star Wars project is up to him to try and turn into a reality. He’s had a somewhat quiet career since he played Kevin in the Home Alone movies. However, his performances in American Horror Story and Entergalactic are evidence that the actor not only kept his talent, but has also worked on his craft throughout the years. As his Instagram post states, the Star Wars fandom does extend to his household; he’s a fan and has his own pair of lightsabers, so seeing him gun for a role in the Star Wars universe would be warmly welcomed by the fanbase and his family.
