Oliver Shane Hawkins plays drums on ‘My Hero’ to honor late dad Taylor Hawkins during Foo Fighters tribute

The son of late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins performed onstage in memory of his father Saturday night.

Sixteen-year-old Oliver Shane Hawkins played drums on “My Hero” at the “Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert.” in London.

Images of father and son were displayed on screens for the stadium to see as the song began, revealing the teen behind the drumset.

Musicians from around the world gathered in support of Hawkins, with various artists playing songs from Foo Fighters’ vast catalog.

Some musicians who joined the tribute were Blink-182’s Travis Barker, The Darkness’ Rufus Tiger Taylor, Wolfgang Van Halen, and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl’s daughter Violet.

The tribute opened with former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher performing his band’s “Rock ‘n’ Roll Star” and “Live Forever,” backed by the Foo Fighters with Grohl on drums, Pat Smear and Chris Shiflett on guitar, and Nate Mendel on bass.

Later, Grohl was seen breaking into tears as the singer performed “Times Like These.”

Hawkins died in Bogota, Colombia, on March 25 due to a cardiovascular collapse at the age of 50.

Hawkins, 50, died in Colombia on March 25.

He left behind his wife Alison Hawkins and three children — Oliver Shane, Annabelle Hawkins, 13, and 8-year-old Everleigh Hawkins.
